JOIN THE ABORTION CONVERSATION PROJECT BOARD

Abortion work has never moved forward because everyone agreed.

It moved because people were willing to ask harder questions, challenge what had become accepted, and keep abortion seekers—not institutions, politics, or respectability—at the center.

That is the lineage of the Abortion Conversation Project. And it is the board we are building now.

ACP was founded by people who understood that changing abortion culture requires more than defending access. It requires changing the conversations around abortion, trusting the people doing the work, and putting resources behind ideas that might not fit neatly inside traditional philanthropy.

We are looking for people who want to help carry that forward.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

People who:

Put abortion seekers before politics.

Believe small, strange, emerging, and deeply human ideas deserve a chance.

Trust the people closest to the work.

Ask good questions instead of arriving with all the answers.

Understand that abortion work includes culture, conversation, storytelling, care, experimentation, and community.

Are willing to challenge the habits of traditional philanthropy—including our own.

Can bring strategy, relationships, resources, governance experience, or simply a perspective ACP does not have yet.

You do not need to be the biggest name in the room.

You do need to care deeply about where abortion work goes next.

WHY JOIN

Peg Johnston spent decades creating room for conversations the movement wasn't always ready to have.

ACP intends to keep doing exactly that.

We fund abortion work that is curious, brave, practical, unconventional, and rooted in the lives of abortion seekers. We want a board willing to protect that spirit while helping ACP grow into its next chapter.

If you believe abortion philanthropy should make more room for experimentation, emerging leaders, uncomfortable conversations, and ideas that don't already have institutional backing, we want you at the table.
